Whenever I am taxed by one of those days (weeks, years, eons) I remember a couple of things that keep me going.
The first two are my kids – now grown – whose happiness alone offers sufficient impetus to keep on keepin’ on.
But there’s one other thing that sustains me when life is being – shall we say – uncooperative.
It was best summed up by Fran Lebowitz, in her response to one of the questions in the Proust Questionnaire, as posed by Vanity Fair.
How would you like to die?
